Contributed company overview from Martin Dominguez, founder and CEO of Tlāza USA.

Based in Mesa, Arizona, Tlāza USA develops unmanned aircraft using folded corrugated airframes and modular electronics for low-cost training and counter-UAS evaluation. Its platforms include the Boomerang quadcopter, TB2X5 fixed-wing aircraft, and TCS1. The company states that its modular and flat-pack aircraft designs are covered by patent-pending filings.

According to the company's submitted overview, development began in January 2025, followed by refinements in April 2026 and a live flight demonstration before representatives of the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). Tlāza says it subsequently demonstrated its capabilities at additional military bases and innovation units. It reports that Lightning Labs at the 25th Infantry Division approved the platforms for acquisition and testing.

Boomerang Quadcopter

The Boomerang quadcopter combines a fold-together corrugated frame with commercially available drone components. It can be transported flat and assembled using tape and, depending on the configuration, adhesive. It supports visual-flight and onboard-camera configurations.

TB2X5 / B2 Fixed-Wing Aircraft

The TB2X5, also referred to as the B2, is a hand-launchable fixed-wing aircraft that provides a different flight profile for training exercises. It supports visual or flight-controller-assisted operation, with the 22-inch version identified by the company as its focus for scalable production.

TCS1 Training Platform

The TCS1, previously referred to by the company as its Shahed-style platform, is another hand-launchable fixed-wing design. Its distinct airframe geometry and flight characteristics provide an additional profile for detection, tracking, and counter-UAS evaluation.

Across the platforms, the approach centers on compact transportation, replaceable airframes, and modular components. Tlāza says corrugated materials can be treated for water resistance depending on the coating and assembly method.

The company reports that it is listed on the JIATF 401 counter-UAS marketplace as a low-cost training and counter-UAS option, offers NDAA-compliant configurations, and is pursuing Blue UAS listing.

Beyond aircraft, Tlāza describes development work in semiconductor and chip manufacturing, communications technologies, remote-control systems, and acoustic detection systems.
